More on Judgement (2)
My husband and I were watching the movie "Crash" and I noticed the scenes moving around the choices of PLAY, SCENE SELECTION, etc. One of the lines read, "I will judge you". The line made me think that we learn how to do that at an early age. We strive for perfection without really knowing what perfection is. If life were a game, everytime we did something, someone would hold up a scorecard showing a number 1 through 10 like they do in competitions. We don't get scores, however, we just get judgements - from our parents, our siblings, our teachers, our friends, our peers, our bosses, our colleagues, our wives/husbands, and it goes on forever.
At the end of the day - why do they care? Why do they judge us? Why do we judge others? Why do we judge ourselves? When people judge - they think they know better, that they are right, and that the other person is wrong.
When we judge ourselves what we are really saying is, "I know better than myself!" That is a very strange realization!
